![]() This camp brings kids back year after year and is a hit with parents and kids!Ģ sessions: June 25-29 and July 23-27: 9am-4pm daily (Note: camp hours have changed) Children will learn about the armies, the lives of the soldiers who participated, and the battles fought during this historic campaign. The focus of this year's camps will be the battles fought in the "Western" theater of the war in 1863. They learn how to march and fight like Civil War soldiers and recreate historic battles through the week while interacting with costumed interpreters. Children are taught about the lives of Civil War soldiers and "join" the army themselves. They are given a cap gun, caps, Civil War replica hat, canteen, and haversack. The camp allows children to choose to be a Union or Confederate soldier. This annual Civil War themed kids' summer camp has been running for over 20 years. This year’s theme will focus on the western battles in 1863. Experiences include camp life, drills and battles. Participants will get the chance to “join the army” for the week and experience life as a Civil War soldier. This fun and educational camp is for boys and girls ages 8-13.
